True Perspective Series: Introduction

Introduction

True perspective matters… It certainly does.

Formed by culture, our upbringing, life experiences and education, most of the things that we do are guided by our own personal perspective on life.

When we find someone that has a similar perspective, we use the term, ‘We are on the same page’ rather fondly and we feel like we have found our people, our tribe.

Yet, there is only one who has complete and true perspective and that is God. He knows all. He knows who He created you to be. He knows the end of a thing from the very beginning because He wrote your story.

This series is designed to help us understand more about Him and who we are. He sent the Holy Spirit to be our teacher and our guide and as we learn to become Spirit led, we will begin to live a life founded on God’s perspective, a life that is our ‘Best Life’.

  5. Warriors of the Kingdom of God.

The Father

Look at Our creation Son, they are spiritually dead. I cannot impart anything to them any longer because I am a Spirit and they are no longer spiritual beings. There is just no connection. They can’t understand spiritual things with their natural and limited intellect. Spirit can only commune with spirit.

I can only resurrect them from spiritual death if You become one of them…the Son of Man…the last Adam…as their representative and who is sinless and therefore spiritually alive…AND then I need You to be willing to swop Your sinless life for theirs.
The only way that I can redeem them is if I as the Righteous Judge pass sentence on ALL sin and someone is willing to take the punishment for the resulting wrath that is required to pay for that sin, ALL sin.

You would have to suffer the terrible wrath of God and terrible physical pain and finally death. It is the only way…
When You have paid the price in full and every person who has ever existed or will ever exist has been justified…I will be able to resurrect You…the Son of Man.

Every person must know that We have rescued them and if they believe it they can access this new spiritual life that You have bought for them.

If You agree, then You as the Son of Man and representative as mankind and I can make a New Covenant…which will be far better than the first…

Jesus, the Word of God agrees and enters into a covenant with Almighty God His part in this covenant – to be the sacrificial Lamb who takes away our sin.

God’s part in the covenant – “I will give You the nations for Your inheritance.”
“As My covenant partner – they will inherit all of Your covenant rights and inheritance”.

That was Jesus part in all of this. He is the covenant partner with Almighty God and having kept His part of the covenant…He has now sat down at the right hand side of God the Father.

Part 2 belongs to the Holy Spirit – He is the only One who can complete Gen.1:26 “to make man in the image of God.”
He is the One who teaches, guides, comforts AND transforms us so that we can look like and live like the sons of God.

He is the only One who can help us by teaching us, guiding us to fulfil our destiny and purpose – which is:

  1. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength.

  2. Love others as yourself.

A great part of me believes that one of the best ways to love God is to love others.

John 21:15-17 – If you love Me…feed my sheep.

John 13:34 – Love one another as I have loved you.

How did He love? He humbled Himself as a servant for the good of others…

John 13:35 – By this shall all men know that you are My disciples, if you have love one to another.

Matt 16:24 – If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and follow Me.

This is what the church should be known for! We want to be known as lovers of God and lovers of each other. The gifts are for this.

True Perspective

We understand all of this but there is something very concerning and serious that can jeopardise this…it is the reverence that we have not only for God but also for His Word.

In this day and age, we live in a time where so many people trust their own heart, their thoughts, their opinions and feelings. We as Christians must be saying “I trust God’s Word even when the Word goes against my opinions or my feelings.

Let God be true and every man be a liar.
If He said something and it is written in this book…we must KNOW that it is a living and active word!

John 6:63 – It is the Spirit who gives life, the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to are Spirit, and they are life.

Isaiah 55:8-11 – For My thoughts are not your thoughts, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways.
V11 So shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void!

What the Father spoke in Gen. 1:26 has gone forth from His mouth and it shall not return to Him void but shall accomplish all that He sent it forth to do. Amen.
